Jana r. Baker
Jana Baker founded Baker Law with a commitment to providing strategic, client-centered representation during life's most challenging moments. She understands that when individuals seek legal counsel, they are often facing uncertainty, high stakes, and decisions that can impact their future for years to come. Her approach combines meticulous preparation, practical problem-solving, and unwavering advocacy to help clients navigate those moments with confidence.
A Southern Oregon native, Jana's journey to becoming an attorney reflects the determination and work ethic she brings to every client she represents. Before entering the legal profession, she worked in healthcare management, where she learned the importance of listening carefully, solving complex problems, and guiding people through difficult situations. Those experiences continue to shape her approach to client representation today.
Jana returned to Oregon to pursue her lifelong goal of becoming an attorney, graduating summa cum laude from Southern Oregon University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology before earning her Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law. Throughout her academic career, she received numerous awards recognizing both her leadership and commitment to excellence.
Her legal experience spans criminal defense, post-conviction relief, legislative advocacy, and courtroom litigation. During law school, she worked for criminal defense and post-conviction firms while also serving as an intern with the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Following graduation, Jana represented clients as a public defender, where she developed extensive courtroom experience and advocated for individuals facing some of the most difficult circumstances of their lives. She later served as a partner and Chief Financial Officer at a private law firm before founding Baker Law.
Jana is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, remaining engaged in continuing legal education, professional development, and the advancement of criminal defense advocacy. In recognition of her service to the legal profession and commitment to Oregon's legal community, she was honored with the Oregon New Lawyers Division Member Service Award in 2025.
Today, Jana represents clients across a variety of practice areas, bringing the same level of dedication, preparation, and personalized attention to every matter she handles. She believes that effective representation begins with understanding each client's unique goals and concerns and developing a strategy tailored to achieve the best possible outcome.

As Legal Assistant, Hailey is often the first point of contact for clients and plays an integral role in ensuring each case receives the attention, organization, and care it deserves. From coordinating appointments and managing case files to answering questions and assisting with client communication, she helps keep every aspect of the practice running smoothly.
Hailey has been immersed in the world of public defense her entire life. Growing up around the legal profession gave her a unique perspective on the challenges individuals and families face when navigating the justice system and instilled in her a deep appreciation for the role dedicated legal advocates play in their clients' lives. Those experiences sparked a passion for the law and a long-term goal of becoming an attorney herself.
Hailey's commitment to serving clients is reflected in the professional journey she has shared with Attorney Jana Baker. She worked alongside Jana at the Public Defender of Marion County, continued with her at a private law firm, and was there from the very beginning when Baker Law opened its doors. Having worked together through multiple stages of Jana's legal career, Hailey has developed a deep understanding of the firm's values, approach to client service, and commitment to advocacy.

Liberty Belle serves as Baker Law's Chief Morale Officer, Client Relations Specialist, and, according to her, the true boss of the office.
A Chihuahua-Pomeranian-Poodle mix with a larger-than-life personality, Liberty Belle takes her responsibilities seriously. Whether she's greeting visitors, supervising office operations from her favorite chair, or ensuring that everyone takes a well-deserved break, she is an important part of the Baker Law team.
Liberty Belle has a special talent for sensing when someone is having a difficult day. She understands that many clients come to our office during stressful and uncertain times, and she is always ready to offer a wagging tail, a comforting presence, or a reminder that brighter days are ahead. Her ability to connect with people often helps put clients at ease from the moment they walk through the door.
While Attorney Jana Baker may handle the legal strategy and Hailey keeps the office running smoothly, Liberty Belle is responsible for maintaining office morale and ensuring that every team member receives the attention she believes they deserve.
